Logitech Portable Speakers MM50

Competition between the Speaker companies has grown significantly over the past few years. Altec Bose, Macally and many other brands are now pushing for the top quality speakers at a budget, which is good for consumers as the price is kept low! The latest set of speakers though; the Logitech Portable Speakers MM50 has recently been released, and they are a great set of speakers. Logitech seem to do a great job with their speakers every time, which is why so many of them are sold throughout the world. They have to be one of the most common speakers that you see in schools, offices and even at home.

The MM50 offers a sleek style and decent sound at a price considerably less than the SoundDock or the iM7. It is 325mm by 102mm by 38mm and it weighs a mere 725 grams. When you put it into perspective though, this is considerably heavier than the other Portable Speakers, but it makes up for the weight with a number of other great functions. The flip out metal legs, build in rechargeable battery and a great travel case make it well on the money for a good set of speakers. Like a lot of the portable speakers on the market today, the MM50 is Icy White with light grey speaker grilles, which looks very attractive. There is something great about this white color which stays clean, looks great and does what you want it to!

The Logitech Portable Speakers MM50 are designed to charge your iPod as long as it is plugged into a wall socket. When it’s not, you can still play music but you will have to charge your iPod later. This might sound like a bit of a problem but it enables longer times between charging the actual dock whilst playing music, which at the end of the day is the most important anyway. Logitech throws in a few snap on adaptors which helps to keep your iPod snug and tight in the dock. They even throw in an adaptor on the back so that you can sync with your computer without ever removing the iPod from the little sound system.

The Logitech Portable Speakers MM50 also comes with a cable to plug in other MP3 players which aren’t iPods. This is handy as there are a lot of other MP3 players that are not iPods! The MM50 also comes with a remote which makes changing music and modifying the sound level a piece of cake. There is nothing worse than having to move around every time a song comes on that you don’t like, or a song decides to play much louder than what you intended! Logitech Portable Speakers are designed for true convinience!

When you turn the Portable Speakers off, the iPod is also turned off. It will continue to charge as long as it’s in a wall socket. The 3d sound seems to work very effectively too, which is great to see. Overall the Logitech Portable Speakers MM50 is a very tidy unit. They have clear highs, a good midrange and also good bass. If you want really booming bass in your Portable Speakers you might want to consider something else, but for most people’s purposes this does everything you want it to!
