Isound Speakers

I’ve always loved the way that Portable Speakers look. There is something futuristic about them, and they are truly awesome pieces of equipment. Considering how easy it makes taking music with you, portable speakers are a good investment. Isound Speakers are something that I have been looking at for a while, and if you search for some pictures of them you will understand why I say so many speakers look futuristic. Isound have been impressing people with their speakers for quite some time now, and the quality as well. Compared to other Portable Speakers of their time, older Isound Speakers were incredibly loud. The only let down; no iPod functionality. However, with many of the new Isound Speakers you are now in luck. The I Sound Speakers have now been designed with iPod accessories, which is great news.

The Bow Tie is one of the Isound Speakers which is very impressive. It looks exactly like a bow tie; sort of rectangular with a narrower centre. Even in the widest spot of this speaker, it is only 4 inches. It’s about 9 inches long and stands not very tall off the table. Considering other portable speakers, it is slightly larger but then that’s usually the case with the better speakers! It has a tiny dock for an iPod, but not only this; the device is incredibly light weight and it uses common AA batteries rather than having to get lithium ion built ones. This is great, as it means that you will never have a problem sourcing batteries for such an item. An AC adaptor is included, and the speakers are protected with a small grille. Older models were not, and as such any rough handling often resulted in a busted speaker! These make good Portable PC Speakers, especially for laptops and those that need that extra little boost.

The buttons on the Isound Speakers are limited, but a remote control makes up for this with an impressive array of functions. You can manage albums, play with the playlists, set shuffle and repeat settings and even more. Dreamgear did well this time too; they made the speakers able to sync and charge an iPod; something that’s almost required these days. Not being able to sync on other devices knocks them clean out of the game as so many people use iPods these days. Isound Speakers have simply done a great job on this product.

You can even get an adaptor to fit iPod nano’s properly in the dock and other adaptors for different models. You can get 9 other adaptors to suit the MP3 player that you own, which is great news. A little issue though is that you won’t fit your iPod in without removing the cases; something which can be a bit annoying if you use the iPod elsewhere besides in the dock itself!

What does it sound like?

The Isound Speakers sound very well. The strong volume gives songs that extra boost, and the bass output is very surprising. If you didn’t know where the bass was coming from you would have a big surprise coming when you turned around. Even better though, the bass doesn’t drown the other important parts of songs which is something that a lot of Portable Speakers do.
The only real issue with the Isound Speakers is the lack of rechargeable batteries that come with it. You can however get these at any store, and considering that batteries will never be an issue it’s more than a good compromise.
